Norfolk Sister Cities is proud to partner with D’Art
in showcasing the Sister Cities International Grand Prize Art, Poetry and Essays from the 2012 “Youth as the Catalyst for Change” Gallery.
The Grand Prize International Art piece was submitted by NSCA on behalf of its Sister City Kaliningrad, Russia. The artist is 15 year old Natalya Galkina, and the piece is titled “Looking to the future through the past” (pictured below) Her artwork won the Grand Prize of $1,000 and is traveling the US with the Sister Cities Gallery.
The Gallery will be displayed at D’Art January 30- February 20, 2013. The Gallery is open Tuesday- Saturday 10:00AM-5:00PM and Sundays 1:00-5:00PM. There is no cost for admission. The 2013 Young Artist Young Authors Showcase is ” the Power of Exchange”. Submission are due Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Guidelines and Entry forms are available by contacting NSCA or online under Student Opportunities (click for link).
An evening reception awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category will be held in April (date to be determined) at D’Art at the Selden Arcade. 1st place winners will receive $100 and gifts, 2nd and 3rd place winners will also receive prizes and gifts. All 1st place winners advance to the Sister City International competition in Washington, DC.
