Ten delegates began their two week stay with a welcome reception hosted by the Solinap Family.
The first working session for the delegation was a full debriefing by Norfolk Public School officials. The day included tours of Child Nutrition and Transportation. Following a public school experience the six educators in the group where able to spend time at St. Patrick’s Catholic School. Concluding the education overview was a half day tour of Old Dominion University with special emphasis on the Darden College of Education. They had a field trip to Washington, DC to meet with Philippines Ambassador Cuisia and enjoy some general tourist sightseeing. The delegation was warmly received by Father Nixon and the congregation of St. Pious X Catholic Church. Weather improved for the second week permitting some naval related experiences.
The visit concluded with a farewell party hosted by Cagayan de Oro Sister City Committee Chair Cheryl McGarrigle.
